Research

We work with small scale farmers, employing non-conventional social research methods

We conduct research that is relevant and speaks to the issues that relate to the lived experiences of rural communities. Our research team possesses skills and training in immersive, embedded, grounded, ethnographic methodologies. Our research team will invest their time and effort to obtain in-depth, emic, thick description of local social dynamics and social realities.

Consultancy

We bring together a research team that is oriented towards alternative, non-conventional social research methods

We pride ourselves in our alternative, non-conventional social research orientation. We are well suited to investigating questions of social class and power, emphasizing mixed methods, inclusive and embedded research approaches as they apply to agricultural systems and agrarian transformation. We strive to conduct research with rather than for or about research subjects. We bring together a network of similarly oriented researchers.
